Easy Drop Biscuits

February 1, 2018 Caroline Belnap
easy drop biscuits

My mom would make these biscuits for us whenever we had a breakfast for dinner. Eggs, bacon and drop biscuits! YUM! Sometimes we would have crepes or german pancakes...I'll save those for another post!

I love these biscuits because they are super easy, and once you have the recipe down, you can easily modify it to make them more savory or sweet. They aren't flaky but they have a nice chewy crumb and taste so goooood right out of the oven. I've definitely eaten an entire batch before...

I like to eat them with butter and my favorite jam, but mix in some cheddar and chives and they are a great addition to any dinner!

Easy Drop Biscuits

Β

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 tablespoon granulated sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup melted butter

1 cup milk

Β

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

2. Stir together all of the dry ingredients.

3. Melt butter and then add it to the dry mixture along with the milk.

4. Stir all of the ingredients together. Mix well until the dough is moistened evenly.

5. Using two spoons, drop biscuits onto a baking sheet. Don't try to make them uniform or pat them down! The texture is what makes these. It should yield about 10-12 biscuits.

6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are just turning golden brown.

Enjoying the fruits of my quarantine baking πŸ€ͺ stayed up until 3 making these pumpkin loaves so I could enjoy them for the next several days. Are you baking up anything lately??? Tried making these @redtruckbakery Pumpkin Scones today! They were delish. I omitted the raisins and added an additional 1/4 C sugar. I think next time I might try making these apple flavored! Guys I have a pin that’s KILLING IT on Pinterest 😱 Maybe I should hop back on there and keep pinning πŸ€”??? It has 222 saves, literally out of nowhere 🀯 do you still use Pinterest? I’m reconsidering it now πŸ˜‚ Guys...this bread 🀀 Just playing around in the kitchen today! These financiers were okay. Not bad, but not as good as ones I’ve at at @maisonkayserusa, even though I followed their recipe exactly. I even measured my ingredients in grams 😱 it’s okay though! Super grateful to be in a warm and sunny place with my Valentine πŸ’• We decided every February we have to escape the cold to maintain our sanity πŸ˜… I’m not complaining! Besides my husband, I also have one other Valentine...myself ☺️ Trips to the Date night πŸ’• wearing my favorite @rebeccaminkoff leather jacket. It’s like wearing butter 🀀 There’s still time to make these Soft Ginger Molasses Cookies for your holiday gathering!!! Recipe link in bio πŸ˜‹ Thinking of doing a weekly roundup of my outfits on the blog? πŸ€” What do you think? One of my favorite blogger @lemonstripes does it and I love checking it out for outfit ideas πŸ’› Plus it’s kind of fun to do a little daily record of what I&rsqu
