Summer is basically here and we’ve been conditioned to believe we’ll enjoy it more if we look a certain way! I’m here to tell you to screw that false idea, summer is meant to be enjoyed no matter what you look like. I didn’t used to believe that but I really, really do now. Part of that realization came about through time, but it also came about through conscious decisions like buying that swimsuit I never thought I could wear and then wearing it, choosing to follow people on social media who celebrated body diversity, and working on recognizing and challenging my own hurtful thoughts.

I’m leaving to go to the DR for my husband’s 30th in 3 weeks and in anticipation of that, I hopped on my Instagram and shared an unfiltered swimsuit try on. I wouldn’t have done this a year ago, let alone 2 months ago, but with this blog and platform I’m building, I’ve realized that sharing my true self is the best way I can heal myself and help others. So, less than 12 hours ago I bared my stretch marks, cellulite and fun little tummy and back rolls on my insta-stories while also sharing some BOMB swimsuits with you!

I’ve tried to find the exact swimsuits I wore during the try-on (which will be saved on my Instagram highlights) for you to shop here. Some aren’t the exact suit, but are still really cute and visually similar.
